Brexit Conference

Brexit Conference

PBIC took part in a Brexit Conference in Luton on Saturday 24th September 2017. This very topical conference was organised at the Town Hall by Polonia Luton, and the guest of honour was the Polish Ambassador to the UK Arkady Rzegocki. The conference heard presentations from a number of speakers including MPs for Luton Gavin Shuker and Kelvin Hopkins, as well as PBIC manager Mags Brady. The speakers discussed many of the issues facing EU nationals in the UK with Brexit now just 18 months away. One thing which all speakers agreed on is that there is still too much uncertainty about how Brexit will affect EU nationals living in the UK, but the speakers all preferred to focus on positive messages, including ways for EU nationals to take greater control of their futures after Brexit, encouraging greater civic participation, career development, business start-up, and active integration.
