We are looking for volunteers to support our general advice service, one to one advice, supporting drop-in surgeries and support with casework.
Our advice team is always looking for enthusiastic people that are keen to learn and take on new challenges.
You don’t need experience in advice as training will be provided however we do require your english to be at level B1 as a minimum (communicative) as you will be writing letters and making calls in English. Client care is always our top priority therefore we do expect you to have some skills and experience working with people.
What’s in it for you
Our volunteers can always count on our support in their jobs as well as their development, when you start volunteering with us you will go through an intensive three month training programme focused on housing, education, benefits etc. During the training period you will be able to work with and shadow experienced advisors as well as start to support clients with their enquiries with supervision.
Once you finish your training and gain more experience of advice and working with clients you will be able to take advantage of external trainings as and when needed.
PBIC offers ESOL courses and all our volunteers are able to take advantage of them, you can attend as many courses as you like at no charge.
